What We Do

MCTEN has three primary activities: building intentional community, creating productive spaces, and supporting inclusive policies. Throughout the academic year, we convene a range of programs and activities including weekly online writing spaces, writing retreats, professional development workshops, cross-cutting conversations, and other activities that support the SDSU faculty. At the core of the MCTEN approach is the intentional design, formation and curation of activities that leverage the strength of community and peer-to-peer learning and support, buoyed by senior faculty allies as sponsors, where we define sponsorship as the practice of engaging in externally facing actions such as advocacy, visibility, promotion, and connection to engage with and support a colleague. Currently we have 200+ faculty in the MCTEN community, representing faculty from every College.
